On January 14th, Kinross sponsored the 2013-2014 All-Russia Schools Academic contest and awards ceremony in Magadan. The annual awards challenge local students to compete in a variety of academic disciplines. Eighteen students were awarded with Kinross diplomas and prizes, which included iPads, e-books and portable hard drives.
Over the last four years Kinross has sponsored the event, and each year Warwick Morley-Jepson (Regional Vice-President, Russia) presents the awards to the winning students. This year, the mayor of Magadan, the head of the Department of Education, school principals, and teachers were also in attendance at the awards ceremony.
Congratulations to Kinross’ own Vitaliy Lakhman (Customs Clearance Lead), whose son Nikita Lakhman was recognized as one of this year’s contest winners.
