Congratulations to Round Mountain which recently received the first-ever Lifetime Leaders in Sustainability Award from NV Energy! The award honoured 10 businesses that participate in NV Energy’s commercial energy efficiency programs.
Companies were analyzed on how they incorporate efficiencies and sustainability into everyday business practices and share their successes with peers in an effort to move Nevada’s ‘green’ movement forward.
“These businesses stood out amongst hundreds of their competitors for making sustainability a priority,” said Pat Egan, Senior Vice-President, Customer Operations, NV Energy. “We applaud their efforts to take the tools and incentives we provide to make their environmental goals a reality.”
Round Mountain was recognized for their effort to implement measures to reduce energy use across the mine. In particular, the installation of a power factor correction substation, LED lighting, ‘smart’ thermostats, HVAC management technology, and efficient refrigeration equipment.
“Being a responsible steward of the environment is integral to the work we do,” said Dave Hendriks, Vice-President and General Manager, Round Mountain. “This award gives the electrical team the recognition they deserve as their results have made us stand out as an industry leader in sustainability.”
NV Energy has provided energy to homes and businesses in Nevada for over a century.
