On April 28th, sites across Kinross celebrated World Day for Health and Safety at work.
The special day raises global awareness about occupational health and safety guidelines to ensure employees across all industries are safe.
In Russia, employees cut out tracings of their hands for a collective poster, symbolizing their dedication to hand safety and overall safety.
Kupol employees came up with a motto for how health and safety is practiced on site: “Whether you are in an office or a production site, our goal is to ensure a safe work environment. Let our work place be safe and free of any hazards every day.”
At Paracatu, the leadership team held a seminar about accident prevention and a proactive attitude towards safety. Employees also had the opportunity to share different safety best practices with each other.
“This day reminds employees to constantly strengthen and renew safety practices. Whether an employee has been at Kinross for a many years or if they are new, safety should be everyone’s first priority,” Rodney Alves de Melo, Geologist, Paracatu.
