Alex Kulinchenko, IT Communications Architect, Toronto
For Alex, finding solutions to complex IT problems is a regular part of his day-to-day work and he always does it with a smile. He began working at Kinross in 2010 and his customer service approach and talents were quickly noticed in the department.
Whenever an employee across any of our operations has a problem, Alex will make time to assist them without hesitation. Fluent in English and Russian, Alex acts as the Russia ‘remote IT support’ from Moscow to Magadan, where he assist employees at all hours of the day.
Alex is an instrumental member of the IT team, making numerous contributions to systems that improve employee communication across our global operations. Alex developed the first Microsoft Exchange Administrator and an email system for employees. This encompasses the use of internal and external support systems such as the WebEx and Jabber service, allowing our global employees to easily communicate with each other.
He was also a key member of the Bald Mountain integration team in 2016, where he worked tirelessly to ensure the new site was brought into Kinross’ network environment with little disruption. He went out of his way to support to new employees while leading the migration of Bald Mountain’s telephone services as it was transferred over to Kinross.
In addition to being a friendly face in the office, his coworkers call him an expert in new IT technologies for network, server and storage planning implementation and operational management.
“Alex is passionate about delivering high quality service, solutions and resolving issues with the best attitude and technical qualities. He will drop everything to help an employee and ensure they can complete their task without any trouble,” said one of his nominators.
