Anatoliy Logachov, Underground Mine Mechanic, Mobile Maintenance, Kupol
Anatoliy is an underground mine mechanic at Kupol. He is well known at the site for his tireless efforts to constantly innovate and for an impressive track record of fixing any issue.
He joined Kinross in 2012, and ever since, Anatoliy has been fixing various pieces of equipment from dump trucks to loaders and compressors. Even though his official title is ‘Underground Mechanic’, he also services surface mine equipment because of his attention to detail and precise skills. In fact, he is often the first to be called to help whenever there are mechanical failures in any equipment.
Anatoliy is effective in identifying causes for failures, implementing repairs and proposing solutions to complex maintenance problems. He works closely with operators and mine shift supervisors to ensure any issues are quickly addressed so that there is minimal downtime and production isn’t impacted.
His colleagues at all levels welcome the advice and knowledge he shares with them. Always looking for a way to help, Anatoliy mentors colleagues about his craft and about new techniques to maximize efficiency.
