Video: Kinross Alaska partners with TU for Alaska Abandoned Mine Restoration Initiative

Watch this video to see highlights from the commemorative event hosted by Kinross Alaska, Trout Unlimited and the US Forest Service at Resurrection Creek to celebrate the kickoff of the Alaska Abandoned Mine Restoration Initiative.

In August 2021, Kinross announced a partnership with Trout Unlimited to create the Initiative and our commitment of US$540,000  to support its first project  – the continued restoration of Resurrection Creek, a historic mining district which Kinross has not operated.

The Initiative is the first partnership of its kind in Alaska, with a major mining company and a conservation organization working alongside federal and state land-management agencies to restore the environment and mitigate the impact of historic mining operations.
