Brittany joined Kinross in 2010 as a Lab Assayer for the Buckhorn mine and upon its closure, she joined the exploration team at Curlew Basin as a Geodata Technician. Her new role gave her the opportunity to expand her knowledge and experience in mining. Brittany learned about GeoData systems from the ground up and developed several valuable workflows that improve the efficiency and real-time business intelligence for exploration and development drilling at the Curlew Basin Exploration program.
In an effort to share her knowledge of workflows and the AcQuire system, she traveled to Fort Knox to assist with the implementation of a similar workflow.
Aside from sharing her skillset with our operations, Brittany is an integral part of her community. As a Ferry County native, she understands the importance of creating positive opportunities for youth in rural communities and seeks to inspire the next generation of miners. Brittany serves the community as a basketball coach at the local high school and mentors students by sharing her knowledge and expertise in an effort to support their life aspirations.
“Brittany has made a strong difference both at work and in the community during her time at Kinross,” said Gina Myers, Vice-President and General Manager, Kinross Kettle River Operations. “She is an extremely hard worker, and her down-to-earth, humble demeanor inspires others to always do a job they can be proud of. Brittany brings her unassuming nature, reliability, and strong work ethic to each job and uses her experiences to support and motivate others. We look forward to the continued positive impacts Brittany makes in the community and at Kettle River.”
