Since Fort Knox began operation in 1996, the mine has produced 8.5 million ounces of gold. In line with our global commitment to being a responsible miner, Fort Knox has contributed more than $3.8 billion to the Alaskan economy since 2001 and currently employs 700 people, 100% of whom call Alaska home.
“We are proud of the work that has been done at Fort Knox over the last 25 years and look forward to continuing building for the future,” said Jeremy Brans, Vice-President and General Manager, Kinross Alaska. “We believe in our people at Fort Knox, Kinross Alaska and in a promising future ahead.”
