Elizabeth (Liz) joined Kinross in 2019 and has played a pivotal role in strategizing site-wide optimization projects to create viable options for mine development at Round Mountain.
Liz was a key member of the geotechnical team during the Phase S project where she worked closely on the geotechnical design, which resulted in extending mine life at Round Mountain.
When geotechnical issues were encountered in the Phase W pit, Liz led the mine planning re-evaluation and ultimately downsized the haulage fleet, significantly decreasing the PCBA and enabling Round Mountain to surpass its 2023 free cash flow target by approximately $47 million.
Further, Liz’s commitment to continuous improvement and technical excellence has resulted in cost-savings of ~US$10 million through optimization initiatives at Round Mountain. Liz recently relocated to La Coipa in Chile, where her skillset will be utilized to find efficiencies, cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives as we develop our operations in Chile.
