Kinross Tasiast recently sponsored the ‘Stade de Nouadhibou’ marathon in Mauritania for the eighth year in a row! The event brought together over 3,000 participants including several Kinross employees and representatives from Europe, Asia and Africa.
The purpose of the marathon is to bring together Mauritanians with other cultures to participate in the marathon while promoting sport and physical activity for all demographics. This year, a race for disabled participants took place that inspired numerous participants and spectators.
The event raised over USD$14,000, including a USD$5,000 donation from Kinross. Participants of the event were given ‘swag’ items, including Kinross branded water bottles and t-shirts.
The event saw attendance from numerous government officials and senior leaders from Kinross, including Brahim M’bareck, Vice-Presdient, External Relations, Tasiast and Jibril Sy, Government Relations Manager, Tasiast.
