Announcing the winners of Kinross’ Global Photo Contest!

In celebration of our 30th anniversary, Kinross employees across the globe participated in a photo contest with hundreds of excellent submissions! Over a four-week period, we received over 200 employee submissions totaling over 550 photos of employees sharing their inspiring stories, breathtaking photos and exciting ‘Day in the Life’ at Kinross submissions.

While the competition was fierce, three winners were selected based on the following categories – best landscape photo, best story submission and best selfie. Check out our three winners and their photo submissions below!

Best Landscape Photo: Ramon Macias, Process Operator, Round Mountain

Ramon captured this beautiful photo of Round Mountain in the early morning hours. See his photo caption below:

“As the sky painted itself in hues of soft gold and rosy pink, the sun gracefully emerged from the horizon, casting a radiant glow that kissed Round Mountain awake.”

Best Story Submission: Denise Diniz, Contracts Analyst, Paracatu

Denise shared with us three photos of her experience working on the emergency brigade in Paracatu and how Kinross has allowed her to learn new skills while living incredible experiences. See her photo caption below:

“Kinross allowing me to be myself in all my versions; Allowing me to live incredible experiences with great friends and be a part of this for 13 years of this story of 30 years of success that is surely forever marked in my life. Striking photos of my proud performance with the emergency brigade where I had the opportunity to learn, develop skills and become a strong, courageous and warrior woman. Thank you Kinross!”

Best Selfie Submission: Ahmed Boushab, Health and Safety Advisor, Tasiast

Ahmed made sure to follow the guidelines of the photo contest by having fun and submitting photos that captured a candid ‘Day in the Life’ at Kinross! See his photo caption below:

“Here I am at the Tasiast gyro crusher with a capacity to 28,000 tons per day. Here it is ‘in safe hands!’”

A special thank you to all employees who participated in our 30th Anniversary Global Photo Contest, and to our global teams for promoting the contest on-site and through their site newsletters!

We look forward to sharing some of the honourable mentions from the photo contest in coming weeks as we connect our global workforce through our  unique ‘Day’s in the Life’.
