5. Get to know the 2020 LOVA winners – watch video – January 15, 2021

We kicked off 2021 by launching our 2020 LOVA winners video where employees got to hear what our winners and their colleagues had to say about their accomplishments during 2020, inspiring our next cohort of winners in 2021!

4. Meet our first graduates of the ‘new’ Generation Gold program! – September 8, 2021

In 2018, we launched the ‘new’ Generation Gold program – a refreshed approach to the program that consists of two 18-month assignments at different Kinross mines. In 2021, we celebrated our first two graduates of the program: Mohamed Fall, Strategic Business Planning Superintendent, Tasiast, and Samuel Acheampong, Business Optimization Engineer, Chirano, who shared their experience in the program and goals for the future.  

3. Tasiast welcomes new General Manager and implements Safety Stand Down Sessions – November 1, 2021

In November, Kinross Tasiast welcomed their new Vice-President and General Manager, Gavin Ferguson to the mine who kicked off his start at the operationby implementing weekly ‘Safety Stand Down’ sessions in an effort to work cross-functionally to ensure all necessary actions are taking place to mitigate risks on site.

2. Kinross announces renaming of ‘Peak’ project in Alaska to ‘Manh Choh’ – March 14, 2021

In March, we announced the renaming of the former Peak project to ‘Manh Choh’ after close consultations with the local Upper Tanana Athabascan Village of Tetlin. The word ‘Manh Choh’ can be translated from the Upper Tanana Athabascan language to ‘Big Lake’, referring to the nearby Tetlin Lake, a site of high cultural significance in the community.
