As we approach the end of 2022, let’s reflect on the year and our top Kinross World stories!
This year’s top stories span our global operations and are indicative of what our people have been most interested in over the year: our Kinross culture, our values, our people, professional development and operational improvements.
Let’s see what our most viewed stories for the year were:
5. Kinross’ LOVA winners visit Toronto!
Our fifth most viewed story for the year featured eleven LOVA winners from our 2020, 2021 and 2022 cohorts’ time in Toronto in October. The winners enjoyed a week of exploring the city, meeting fellow winners and celebrating their accomplishments, which ended with a gala where they received their awards from Paul Rollinson, President & CEO.
4. Kinross welcomes Mauritanian trainees to Tasiast
Professional development was top of mind this year, especially when Tasiast welcomed 13 Mauritanian trainees to the mine where they will work as interns for two to four months alongside Tasiast employees to gain the skills, knowledge and experience needed to succeed in their careers.
3. Announcing the 2022 LOVA winners!
Once again, our LOVA winners’ announcement was featured in our top five Kinross World stories, coming in at number three! This reinforces our employees’ commitment to our corporate values and the importance the LOVA program plays in our workforce.
2. Kinross Gold’s Board of Directors visit Tasiast mine in Mauritania
Coming in at number two was Kinross’ Board of Directors visit to our Tasiast mine in Mauritania, where they were had the opportunity to get a first-hand look at the day-to-day operations at Tasiast and to experience Mauritanian culture. The trip included a dinner hosted by the Government of Mauritania and various other government representatives, reinforcing our commitment to the country and working with external stakeholders and government officials.

Finally, the top story for 2022 was a video on the assembly of the new mobile tailings stacker at La Coipa! The new stacker will help improve La Coipa’s operating performance and save the operation on both costs and time.
