Iuri has over 22 years of experience working at Kinross and currently works as a Mine Instruction Technician III at Paracatu.
Iuri enjoys sharing the wealth of knowledge he’s gained since joining the Company with his colleagues in the mine operations department, especially young miners who he believes would benefit from mentorship and training experience.
Iuri is responsible for training new employees and retraining existing operators to ensure they are using equipment correctly to enhance operational quality and safety. Iuri’s approach to training and development is rooted in the Company’s values, in particular the importance of safety being the top priority.
“Iuri is dedicated to safety and watches over employees’ well-being,” said Plinio Santos, Mine Operations Supervisor, Paracatu. “He is an instructor who clears employees to start their activities only when they are able to respond safely. Iuri always seeks to Put People First.”
This is not Iuri’s first LOVA nomination – in 2021, he was a finalist in the Putting People First category when he was recognized for his commitment to our safety culture and his passion for making Paracatu a safer place.
