Every year the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada’s annual convention – PDAC – attracts tens of thousands of visitors from across the globe who visit Toronto to network, sell mining services, promote their countries as attractive investment decisions, and attend technical sessions.
This year’s event, which ran from March 1st – 4th, was attended by a strong Kinross contingent, including: Claude Schimper (Regional Vice-President, Russia), Lauren Roberts (Regional Vice-President, Americas), Lou Naumovski (Vice-President & General Director, Kinross Moscow), Stanislav Borodyuk (Director, Government Relations & Public Affairs, Kinross Moscow), Dominic Channer (Vice-President, External Affairs, Americas), Jeff Orru (Director, External Relations, Africa), Melainine Tomy (Vice-President, External Relations, Africa), Stephen Wilks Kofi Mensah (Community Relations Superintendent, Chirano), Al Kirkham (Regional Director, Exploration, West Africa), Alistair Waddell (Vice-President, Global Greenfields Exploration), Graeme Davis (Vice-President, Geosciences), and many others.
From “Mexico Day”, to panel discussions focused on Corporate Social Responsibility, this year’s PDAC convention featured a variety of seminars and events, including a presentation from Kinross’ own Vice-President of Corporate Responsibility, Ed Opitz, and representation at CERBA’s Eurasia Mining Conference, where Lou Naumovski moderated a session, and Claude Schimper presented.
Kinross also hosted an exhibitor booth at this year’s event, manned by a sizeable team from our corporate headquarters in Toronto, and visited by the Russian Ambassador to Canada, His Excellency Alexander Darchiev.
