Congratulations Kinross Chirano for winning two awards at the 2019 Health, Environment, Safety and Security (HESS) Awards in Ghana!
The mine received ‘Best Company in Environmental Protection Campaign’ and ‘Best Company in On-Site Safety Awareness and Communication’. The awards highlight our commitment to safety and the significant efforts undertaken towards protecting and preserving the local eco-system.
Adinorta Nti-Yeboah, Deputy Human Resource Manager, Chirano, accepted the award on behalf of the mine and spoke on Kinross’ commitment to putting people first and responsible mining.
“At Kinross our dedication to health, safety and responsible mining extends to the protection of our people, host communities and the environment,” said Adinorta. “Our Health and Safety department works tirelessly with other functions to ensure each task is carried out safely from the surface to our underground operations.”
The annual Health, Environment, Safety and Security Awards celebrate Ghanaian companies that uphold safe practices and environmental stewardship in areas where they operate.
