Kinross hosts ‘Foundation School’ at Toronto office

This June, Kinross hosted a ‘Foundation School’ in Toronto that brought together seven participants from our Generation Gold program and one high performing employee from each site who was nominated to attend the program.

The purpose of the school was to expose participants to the corporate functions in the Company and develop a broad understanding of our business and the mining industry, Participants also learned how to facilitate and develop strong business relationships and leverage support in their roles and projects.

“Kinross’ Foundation School is an opportunity for employees to broaden their knowledge of the Company, as well as the industry, and to learn more about the resources available to them as Kinross employees,” said Esther GirgisSenior Director, HR Operations. “We received positive feedback from not only participants but from our employees who taught courses on their respective business functions. We look forward to continuing this program in years to come as we invest in the next generation of miners.”

Over the course of the week, students participated in lectures and activities from departments across the Company including Safety & Sustainability, Supply Chain, Business Optimization, Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Corporate Development, Community Relations, Investor Relations, Communications and Legal.
