Kinross launches 2022 Climate Report

Kinross recently released our third annual Climate Report, providing a transparent and comprehensive review of our climate-related disclosures and GHG emissions data for 2022.

Click here to access the report that is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the CDP – Climate submission for 2022.

In 2022, Kinross advanced its climate change strategy, as well as a number of energy-efficiency projects that support our goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, including the Tasiast solar plant that is expected to come online by the end of the year, reducing GHG emissions by ~530,000 tonnes over the life of mine.

“In maintaining our values and commitment to responsible mining, we will continue building on our position as one of the lowest GHG emitters among our peers to make a tangible contribution toward mitigating climate change,” said J. Paul Rollinson, President & CEO. “I invite you to read the report and learn more about the progress we have made to tackle this critical global issue.”

Kinross has reported on climate-related data since 2005 and began reporting in alignment with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) in 2020 with its inaugural Climate Report.
