Kinross launches new Global Leadership Program – SLII® in Toronto!

At the beginning of May, Kinross kicked off a new Global Leadership Program in Toronto, Canada, that brought together 11 participants from across our global operations to qualify them to deliver Blanchard’s SLII® to our organization.

SLII®, the global leadership model of choice, focuses on three key areas: to help leaders develop a language to lead themselves and others, to increase the quality of conversations with those they lead, and to help others develop problem solving skills. Upon completing the course, the participants will act as ambassadors and facilitators of SLII® for their site.

SLII® supports the Kinross leadership approach to developing and retaining talent at all levels of the organization and building high performing teams to help us achieve our organizational goals.

Over the course of five days, our global trainers learned about the foundation of SLII®, then put their learnings into practice by participating in teach- back sessions where they were given the opportunity to apply their newly acquired facilitation skills to prepare them for their important role as SLII® facilitators for Kinross. The program facilitator and fellow participants then provided feedback on ways they excelled and areas in need of improvement.

On the final day, participants received their certificates from their highly experienced facilitator, Nancy Biggar, Senior Consulting Partner with Blanchard®.

“We are excited to launch SLII® as part of our suite of global leadership development programs to support our leaders and employees,” said Kathleen Grandy, SVP Human Resources. “With this program we hope to develop our leaders to grow their team’s potential and empower them to take on more responsibility and initiative. A big thank you to our partners at Blanchard for facilitating this program, and to our participants for being ambassadors of SLII!”
