For the sixth year in a row Kinross has been recognized by Corporate Knights as one of Canada’s Best 50 Corporate Citizens, this year placing first among gold mining companies and second within the mining sector. The ranking looks at a range of companies in Canada that have revenues over $2 billion and over 2,000 employees. Evaluation is based on 12 key performance indicators that reflect various aspects of corporate responsibility including, safety performance, tax generation, diversity and energy and carbon productivity. The methodology was developed by Corporate Knights with the support of Industry Canada.
Corporate Knights, founded in 2002, is a research and media company aimed at promoting socially, ecologically and economically responsible behavior in the private sector.
