For the eighth consecutive year, Kinross has been named one of Canada’s Top 50 Corporate Citizens by Corporate Knights and was ranked as the top gold mining company.
Corporate Knights is a research and media company that ranks companies based on their sustainability performance and prints one of the world’s largest circulation magazines focused on corporate responsibility. The annual ranking includes Canadian companies with revenues over $2 billion and with more than 2,000 employees. Developed with the support of Industry Canada, the final ranking is based on 12 key corporate responsibility measures including safety, tax generation, diversity and energy and carbon productivity.
“It is an impressive achievement to be listed as one of the best corporate citizens, especially for the eighth year in a row,” said Ed Opitz, Vice-President, Safety and Sustainability. “This recognition is due to the hard work at each of our operations that ensure a safe workplace, compliance with environmental requirements, and continuing commitment to support our host communities.”
