Kinross Nevada helps build home for veteran family in Las Vegas

Kinross Nevada recently teamed up with FOX5 Las Vegas for their ‘Super Build’ project in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Kinross Nevada contributed US$20,000 to help build a home for a veteran family in Las Vegas, with teams from both our Round Mountain and Bald Mountain sites volunteering to help with the construction.

The Bald Mountain and Round Mountain teams were  able to complete the initial framing of the house over the two days they were on site. This normally would take over a week to accomplish, but with our teams’ hard work and dedication, they were able to reduce the build schedule by a full week!

“The Super Build project was an amazing opportunity to come together as Kinross Nevada and make a difference in our state,” said Matthew Miller, Corporate Responsibility Specialist, Bald Mountain. “We are extremely proud of how our team worked together and the progress they made on the home for this veteran family. We look forward to future potential volunteer opportunities where we can continue to support this excellent initiative.”

The Super Build project was established in 2020 in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and 11 partner organizations in Nevada ranging from community leaders, sports franchises and business partners to build a home for displaced veterans in the community. This year, the project consists of 13 build sponsors from across Nevada.
