Kinross placed first among mining companies and was in the top 20 of the 2018 annual Globe & Mail “Board Games” ranking.
Kinross achieved a score of 92 of 100, an increase of three points from last year, and placed 19th among 247 companies assessed. The Globe & Mail Board Games ranks Canada’s corporate boards using a “rigorous set of governance criteria designed to go far beyond minimum mandatory rules imposed by regulators.” The ranking evaluates board independence, diversity, compensation, and disclosures, among other criteria.
The ranking is evaluated by the Clarkson Centre for Business Ethics and Board Effectiveness at the University of Toronto and examines the board’s quality of governance practices.
