We are proud to announce that Kinross received high scores and earned the top spot among gold mining companies in the 2021 Globe and Mail ‘Board Games’, an annual ranking of governance practices of large Canadian companies.

“Our peer-leading Board Games results are a testament to the strength of our Board and our robust governance practices and policies,” said Geoff Gold, Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development, External Relations & Chief Legal Officer. “We recognize the importance of corporate governance to the effective management of the company and our performance in this area is crucial to our overall ESG achievements. We are committed to the highest governance standards and continue to monitor developments in best practices to ensure we meet that commitment.”

The Globe and Mail ‘Board Games’ is conducted by researchers at the David and Sharon Johnston Centre for Corporate Governance Innovation at the University of Toronto. Each year, the ‘Board Games’ examine 220 companies and trusts in the S&P/TSX Composite Index to assess the quality of their governance practices and disclosure.
