Kinross recognized for top governance performance in 2024 ‘Board Games’

We are proud to announce that Kinross Gold received high scores and was named the top Company in the Materials Industry in the 2024 ‘Board Games’ published by The Globe and Mail.

The Board Games have been published annually for 23 years by The Globe and Mail and examines the work of Canada’s companies and trust in the S&P/TSX Composite Index using a rigorous set of governance criteria to assess the quality of their governance practices.

This year, Kinross received a score of 93/100, an increase of four points from our 2023 score, and was ranked 21/215 companies evaluated during the 2024 review.

“The Company’s strong governance continued throughout 2023 and included conducting ESG training for the Board to ensure that the Board remains up-to-date on ESG trends and requirements. A focus on refreshing the Board has resulted in seven new directors since 2015; five directors have an average tenure of less than five year; and 40% meet one or more diversity characteristics. ,” said Catherine McLeod-Seltzer, Chair of the Board, in Kinross Gold’s 2024 Management Information Circular.
