Meet our COVID-19 Champion: Anna Nikitina-Timashkova from Dvoinoye!

In mid-May, we launched the ‘COVID-19 Champions’ program, a global employee recognition initiative dedicated to celebrating those who are making a difference during the COVID-19 pandemic by finding innovative ways to support their colleagues, the Company and the community.

The program aims to recognize employees who are going above and beyond to make a positive contribution in the areas of health and safety, innovation, community support and increasing team morale.

This week, we recognize Anna Nikitina-Timashkova, an administrative assistant from Dvoinoye, whose strong organizational skills and dedication were instrumental in implementing changes to existing programs as well as new protocols at the mine to address the impacts of COVID-19.

Since the start of the pandemic, numerous physical distancing and preventative procedures needed to be implemented across the site to mitigate the spread of the virus. Anna has gone above and beyond to modify her day-to-day tasks to help maintain the health and safety of employees not only at Dvoinoye but across the Russian region by successfully managing these new tasks.

These new tasks included coordinating 14-day observation periods for those entering the site or experiencing symptoms, reducing the number of passengers on flights while ensuring balanced representation from different departments on each flight and maintaining open lines of communication between Dvoinoye, Magadan and various authorities in the region.

Anna’s keen organizational skills allowed the region to prioritize rotational changes at site and centralize COVID-19 testing before employees arrived at Dvoinoye. She is responsible for managing the transportation of COVID-19 test samples to Magadan so that results can be obtained, a complex process that relies on her experience with transportation and her attention to detail. Managing the safe delivery of the test samples is crucial to recording who may have contracted the virus, and helping to contain it.

Her commitment has been unmatched, and her skillset has been instrumental in protecting our employees and the community. Anna has been on since late February, a testament to her dedication to help keep our employees safe. Thank you Anna!
