See how Kinross celebrated the holiday season in Red Lake!

This year, Kinross celebrated its first Christmas season with the Great Bear team and members of the Red Lake community!

To kick off the holiday spirit, the team partnered with the ‘Chukuni Christmas Cheer Board’ by donating over 175 holiday boxes to residents in need which included prepared food for a holiday meal, children’s gifts, and winter supplies.

The team then participated in the annual ‘Parade of Lights’ where they entered their own float, which was assembled in only two-weeks by Kinross employees! During the parade, employees handed out candy to children and waved ‘Merry Christmas’ from the float!

The holiday celebrations concluded with Kinross’ first Christmas party in Red Lake, attended by employees and family members. Attendees received a special holiday meal and were asked to bring a gift for donation to the ‘Red Lake New Start’s for Women Shelter’ and the ‘Red Lake Area Emergency Shelter’.

“This being our first holiday season in the community, we wanted to show our neighbours and employees what being part of the Kinross family is all about, and by thanking them for welcoming us into their community,” said Jeremy Brans, Vice-President and General Manager, Kinross Ontario. “Our team did a great job spreading holiday cheer and made sure to show support for those in need through various donations. It was an exciting holiday season and we look forward to many more years of holiday events in Red Lake.”
