Silver winner: Dylan Langille, Senior Project Geologist, Great Bear

Dylan Langille, Senior Project Geologist, Great Bear

Dylan joined Kinross during the acquisition of Great Bear Resources in 2022 and has become an instrumental member of the project team bringing Great Bear to life.

Dylan manages a variety of contractors, vendors and internal teams in order to successfully implement new initiatives and uses a proactive approach to optimize company resources, which has led to substantial cost savings and improved drilling efficiencies at Great Bear.

In 2023, Dylan championed an initiative to implement directional drilling, which allowed us to effectively hit drill targets at depth, at a reduced cost and more efficiently than conventional drilling. TGreat Bear had 6 out of 11 drills using directional drilling, resulting in cost-savings of $8.5 million, and over 43,000 meters of drilling saved, and an increase to Great Bear’s resource estimate.

“Dylan has always been a standout employee. His commitment to the project and finding ways to move it forward is never ending and has helped us be successful thus far. The directional drilling program is a win for Great Bear and will also benefit Kinross’ global exploration teams thanks to Dylan and his dedication.”
