Video: Kinross’ ‘Chile Advisory Board’ visits projects

Kinross Chile recently launched the ‘Chile Advisory Board’ – a group of external experts from a variety of disciplines who will use their skills and professional backgrounds to provide advice on building and strengthening sustainability plans for La Coipa and Lobo-Marte.

In April, the Advisory Board visited Lobo-Marte to get a first-hand look at the project and to gather information to establish a roadmap for its short and long-term goals.

Watch this video to see highlights from the visit.

The visit was attended by Kinross leadership including Mike Sylvestre, Senior Vice-President, Americas Operations, Mike Van Akkooi, Senior Vice-President, Government Relations, Dominic Channer, Vice-President, Community Relations, Rolando Cubillos, Vice-President and General Manager of Operations, Kinross Chileand Rodrigo Moscoso, General Manager, Kinross Minera Chile, who had the opportunity to meet with the Advisory Board and learn more about the positive contributions they can bring to the project to help achieve the highest standards of sustainability and respect for ecosystems, biodiversity and communities.

“We are excited to welcome the Advisory Board to Chile and for the partnership we have created with the group,” Rolando Cubillos. “They will play an important role in the future of Kinross Chile. While we have a team of talented individuals, it is also beneficial to look outside the mining industry at those who have different backgrounds and experiences for other perspectives . We believe this partnership will help us achieve the best possible results not only in Chile, but across our global operations.”
