Most of my geology career has been in Canada, and I was looking for new adventures and challenges.
After spending over four years at Kupol, I reached a point where I felt like I wasn’t contributing as much to the Company anymore. I learned about Tasiast when I attended the Kinross Technical Services conference in September 2011, where technical employees from all Kinross sites come together once a year to exchange experiences.

I was well aware of the challenges of working at Tasiast, primarily the extreme heat and sandstorms which are quite the contrast from the snowstorms and whiteout conditions I’m used to in Canada and Russia. At that point, I was ready for a new adventure!
