The main motivation was both personal and professional development. I knew by pursuing a global assignment, I could learn a new language, create new experiences, and be immersed in a different culture.
I have always been interested in working in the United States, mainly for the opportunity to improve my English language skills and experience a different work environment. It was the perfect timing and place. I learned from a colleague that Round Mountain’s mine planning team had a vacancy. There was a specific need for my skillsets, and in return I gained a great deal of knowledge as well. Round Mountain is also known for its excellent performance in both safety and production.
