Kinross signs BlackNorth Initiative anti-racism pledge

Kinross recently joined over 200 major organizations working to fight racism by signing the BlackNorth Initiative’s CEO pledge which was created by the Canadian Council of Business Leaders Against Anti-Black Systemic Racism.

The pledge commits business leaders and their organizations to specific actions and targets which include reducing and eliminating barriers to the advancement of black employees, and creating conditions for success for people of colour. Kinross will also look to expand its existing initiatives in the areas of unconscious bias and anti-racism education and further develop its existing Inclusion and Diversity strategy as part of its commitment.

“This global movement reinforces the need to have open, honest conversations and to demonstrate empathy and provide support to those who are impacted by discrimination, inequality and racism, and anti-black racism in particular,” said J. Paul Rollinson, President & CEO. “Our global operations and offices span nine countries and we strive to create an environment where everyone is valued and respected. We are committed to acknowledging our different experiences and championing diversity.”
