SILVER
Aleksey Zaprudnyy
, Senior Mine Shift Boss (UG), Dvoinoye

Aleksey has found innovative ways to make the work place in Russia even safer for employees, a hallmark of our Putting People First value.

He first began working at Kinross in 2006 and was one of the first Kupol employees. Aleksey then moved to Dvoinoye and became a big part of the development of the mine.

During the underground development of Dvoinoye, Aleksey safely led his mine crew to complete the project, overcoming time constraint challenges and adverse weather conditions in the cold climate of Russia’s Far East. Aleksey’s work was recognized by the Chukotka Government for helping bring jobs to the community.

Aleksey also engineered and implemented a water supply project resulting in time savings and increased efficiency in underground operations, earning him recognition from Kinross Russia’s Achieving Excellence team.

Always looking for ways to keep people safe, he was also responsible for creating a new remote controlled equipment navigation system to protect employees from getting injured during underground mining.

Aside from his numerous accomplishments in improving operations, Aleksey is also a leader of the Dvonoye mine rescue team.

Aleksey is a mentor for many new miners. When new employees join his team, they quickly learn about the importance of safety and looking out for each other.
