Silver Winner: Anatoly Kubyshkin – Kupol

Anatoly Kubyshkin (Class 6 Miner) is always the first to lend a helping hand and make new colleagues feel welcome at site.

Anatoly Kubyshkin (Class 6 Miner, Kupol)

When two young employees, both new to the mining industry and working underground, joined Kupol last year, Anatoly made it a personal priority to explain Kinross’ health and safety requirements, and rules and procedures to them.

Anatoly mentored them daily, showed them how to operate equipment, helped settle routine camp accommodation issues and provided pre-shift guidance. He continues to help them on shift and stays in touch with them during afterhours and on days off.
