It’s
that time of year again! While 2020 was a challenging year for us all, employees
across our global operations came together to make the most of a difficult
year. Check out our most popular stories of the year below!
To kick off the year, Kinross Round Mountain donated $40,000 to the Tonopah Historic Mining Park Foundation to help preserve and celebrate the rich mining history in the area.
To prepare for and mitigate the impacts of COVID-19, Kinross implemented several initiatives at the operational level to prioritize the health and safety of our workforce and the communities where we operate.
While our Living Our Values Awards (LOVA) celebrations looked different this year, we remained passionate about celebrating our 2020 winners and the significant accomplishments they have made to our Company.
In April, Kinross Chile successfully completed the transfer of the mine fleet from our Maricunga operation to La Coipa as part of the La Coipa Restart project. The project plan called for the transfer and refurbishment of the mine fleet at Maricunga which was placed on care and maintenance last year.
In 2020, we received 3,800 nominations across our global operations from employees nominating their colleagues for their commitment to our four core values: Putting People First, Outstanding Corporate Citizenship, High Performance Culture, and Rigorous Financial Discipline.
